Public security

The Director of Public Security plans, coordinates and controls prevention and protection activities. In his functions, he must see to the administration of the department, and the management of human and material resources.

In accordance to the Fire Safety Act , these services focus primarily on fire prevention and rescue missions. Nevertheless, the law is flexible enough to allow the Director of Public Safety to maneuver out of these specific tasks.

The Fire Safety department must be prepared for disasters. The fire-fighters are compelled to rescue victims from accidents and fires, and they must plan occasional emergency evacuations. Moreover, the team must raise awareness, organize rescue missions, train other fire-fighters, evaluate potential hazards and investigate questionable fires.
