Role and responsibilities
The Financial Director plans, directs and controls the City's financial activities.
He intervenes in the following areas:
Drafts the annual budget and ensures that it is followed through
Supervises, directs and coordinates the personnel in the financial service department
Payroll
Accounts payable
Collections
Administrative Secretary
Solves problems that may arise
Supplies information about the budget and accounting
Prepares the financial statements
Supports and advises teammates who have difficulties managing their departmental budget
Follows a policy of acquisitions
Manages the social benefits
Manages the retirement plan
Ensures that all deadlines are respected
Employer contributions
GST and QST statements
Retirement plan statements
Taxation reports
Bank reconciliation
Accounts payable
Participates in the Finance Committee's general meetings
