Pabos
Formerly known as the Seigneurie du Grand Pabos, this territory extends 14 miles across and 8 miles long, and is branded as one of Quebec's most beautiful districts. 150 years ago, it was founded as the municipality of Newport. It disassociated itself 20 years later and became the Municipality of Pabos. One by one, all the municipalities then separated: Chandler, Saint-François, Pabos Mills, and Petit Pabos. 4 years ago, following the government's municipal mergers, they all took on the name of Chandler, except Petit Pabos, which was annexed to Grande-Rivière.

Pabos offers a splendid view of the Gulf of St-Lawrence. You can find a municipal park, two rest areas, one of which has utilities and a view of the bay and the other a view of the ocean. The Banc de Pabos beach is known as one of the most impressive in Quebec. We have an oval track for horse races, a magnificent camping ground with mini-golf, an outdoor skating rink and beautiful cross-country trails. There is an elementary school and a post office, as well as high-speed Internet access.
